  1. If you’re involved in any kind of business, you’ve probably seen the abbreviation UX in online guides. It’s everywhere!

It stands for user experience – the one thing all businesses are trying to improve. However, there’s a narrower approach to consider: UX design. User experience design is all about improving the product in a way that enhances the user’s experience. That’s being done through implementing various techniques, such as human-computer interaction, usability, visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.

  3. "We have all played games as a kid. Be it indoors or outdoors – games have challenged us, rewarded us and helped us be a better version of ourselves. The more engaging and interactive a game is, the more it motivates us to keep playing. If we apply this technique to our design, it could help achieve simplicity which, in turn, would enhance the user experience.

In this article, I’ll walk you through what gamification in design is and how you can use it to enrich user experience and engagement."

  4. A lot of marketers get their CX mixed up with their UX. It’s an easy thing to do. Separating one discipline from another can seem confusing, but in reality it’s simple to define, and understanding the difference can have a massive impact on a business that wants to cater to customer needs more effectively.

  5. Virtual reality has skyrocketed in popularity in just a few short years. Ten years ago, VR tech simply wasn’t there, and if it was, the hardware was prohibitively expensive.

Now, your smartphone can act as a VR headset. With Google Cardboard, a smartphone with VR capabilities, and a 3D printer, you can gain access to VR tech for almost no cost whatsoever.

  6. Todd Bracher is mostly known in the industry for his furniture and product designs, but he is fast making a name as a branding strategy leader, too. As an adviser to American manufacturer HBF, Todd Bracher Studio has helped the company expand into new markets and reach a more contemporary global audience.

Today’s user-centered work environments have come a long way from the plans of the 1990s, in which cubicles made efficient use of real estate, often at the expense of comfort and experience. Bracher and HBF’s vision is in line with current thinking about humanistic design: The aim is to make workplace furniture more comfortable, but not too comfortable. It’s all in support of more collaboration, more creativity, and, ultimately, more productivity.

  7. The eCommerce industry has experienced a tremendous amount of growth in the past decade. This growth – in combination with a (still) relatively low market share – represents a huge opportunity for more innovative eCommerce companies looking to overtake their traditional counterparts.

However, in order to latch on to the ‘growth train’, these same eCommerce companies (and therefore, eCommerce managers) are going to have to put their best foot forward. In other words, they’ll need to be sure that they are providing a first-rate online customer experience.

  8. User feedback is the key indicator of customer experience. Having access to the customer insights puts you as a marketer at a competitive advantage. In fact, user feedback will also enable you to prioritise and address issues that surface, putting you one step closer to reaching a profitable conclusion and closing the loop. That is why it’s important to have the right user feedback solution in place, depending on your needs and of course, budget. In this article we will zoom in on several free user feedback solutions that are great for digital marketers who are on a budget.

  9. Delivering an excellent user experience is essential to attracting and retaining customers. And although data management may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about optimizing user experience, maybe it should be.

User experience — or just UX, as really trendy folks put it — has become something of a buzzword at the intersection of IT and business.

  10. I see it time and time again. Companies, particularly startups, throwing money into paid acquisition channels and not getting a strong ROI, or devoting weeks to the latest spammy growth hacks which get them a customer or two for a month or so.

The problem in almost every case is that the company does not understand how to optimize the entire user experience.

They don’t understand who their target audience is, they don’t truly understand why someone would use their product or service, and they don’t understand how to keep them using it.
