  1. Have you ever tried a video streaming app and then been so frustrated by the sheer number of ads that you decided to uninstall within minutes of downloading? Or have you ever installed a mobile app that promised to make your to do list more functional only to begin scratching your head, wondering how to use the gnarly abundance of menu options?

Both of these examples show the deadly effect that a poor user experience (UX) can have on your app. See, UX isn’t only an art. It’s also a science with very clearly defined principles. And mastering those principles can lead to a better app and happier users.

  2. Mopinion’s platform has undergone several changes in order to meet the requirements of GDPR. Among these changes is the modification of our visual feedback feature. Visual feedback allows Mopinion users to take an even closer look at how visitors experience their websites and mobile apps. The nature of this feedback, however, also presents some privacy risks (such as feedback screenshots that contain personal data) which must be mitigated completely. Mopinion has carefully and delicately reviewed all aspects of its visual feedback feature and added several powerful data masking options for protecting privacy-sensitive data.

  5. "We have all played games as a kid. Be it indoors or outdoors – games have challenged us, rewarded us and helped us be a better version of ourselves. The more engaging and interactive a game is, the more it motivates us to keep playing. If we apply this technique to our design, it could help achieve simplicity which, in turn, would enhance the user experience.

In this article, I’ll walk you through what gamification in design is and how you can use it to enrich user experience and engagement."

  6. User engagement is at the heart of any design philosophy. With the user-centred approach, designers are always on the lookout for new techniques to enhance user engagement with products, websites and programs like online games. The objective is to make a product easy and enjoyable for users to use. Making a product easy to use and enjoyable enhances user experience (UX) leading to increased user engagement. Even traditional online card games like pool rummy have enhanced user experience. The secret lies in gamification in the UX design, which has assumed high importance in recent years. Although a very modern concept, it does have a far-reaching impact on the understanding of user preferences and increasing user engagement.

  7. Intergamma, the organisation behind brands GAMMA and KARWEI is the largest DIY (hardware) company in the Benelux region – with nearly 400 locations across the Netherlands and Belgium. As part of their online vision, Intergamma has set its sights on becoming the largest and best omnichannel retailer in the Benelux region. They knew that in order to achieve this status, two things were certain: the customer must continue to come first and all physical stores, website and mobile apps should be in tip-top shape. This ambition ultimately led to a pilot with Mopinion Feedback Analytics software.

  9. It’s true that friction hurts user experience, frustrates a user, and might even drive them to the point of abandoning your product once and for all. There’s no denying that.

It’s true that spotting the various friction points in the process and smoothing them out is the most fundamental approach to improve its flow. Not refuting that either.

However, that’s just one side of the friction coin.
