  1. User experience is often overlooked in website and app design and, indeed, the design of many things. How many times have you felt compelled to push a door only to find you need to pull it instead? While fire codes might dictate such design, it’s an example of user experience at work.

While taking a moment to figure out whether a door is push or pull sounds like a small thing, those types of irritants can add up online -- and cost your business customers.

  2. User interface (UI) design in enterprise software has been a topic of conversation for many years. UIs try to contribute to a great user experience; a good UI ensures the smooth completion of a task and makes the software user experience enjoyable.

The interface we see on our smartphones every day has been many years and many iterations in the making, designed to provide a simpler way to navigate the system and maintain a seamless flow of work productivity.

In today’s digital era, we’re seeing a big change of focus from UI to modern user experiences (UX) such as conversational UX and purpose-built UX where the user experience is all about the optimal way to arrive at an outcome. Here’s why UX will trump UI for enterprise software users in the future:

  3. It may seem evident that the aim of using collaboration tools is to enable excellent communication and information management. Used correctly, the technology also facilitates vital decision-making. Yet, according to The Harvard Business Review, almost 40% of CIOs and IT professionals say their systems make it harder, not easier, for employees to work quickly.

When choosing communications and collaboration technology for business, a key factor is the user experience (UX) it delivers. This includes a well-designed user interface (UI) to enable easy and intuitive collaboration. The UI encompasses all the visual elements used to interact with conferencing platforms – from screens to pages and even buttons and icons.

  4. Your website type decides which kind of web design is more appropriate for the site. Commonly two types of website designing concept are in practice. They are UX and UI. And when you hand over the job of web designing to some web developer cum designer, then you are often asked, or given a choice about what kind of design you want to go with. If you are a complete layman in this, then you must understand the implications and applications of the design types for a better understanding of how to get your website designed and developed.

  6. UX design and testing continue to evolve with the emergence of new technologies that enable new types of experiences. Mobile and web apps changed the conversation from UI to UX. Now, UX involves much more than graphical UIs and app performance. Organizations must deliver omnichannel experiences that contemplate voice interfaces, virtual elements and more.

“We’re just scratching the surface of UX design as a discipline. It’s not UX/UI. UX is a much broader discipline than UI,” said Jason Wong, research VP at Gartner. “UI looks at how the user interacts with a given application. UX includes user research, content, performance and back-end so you need a team to help execute that.”

  7. It is said that a successful product is a reflection of who we are. Usually, our unique perspective is what leads to the initial discovery. As the product acquires feedback, our keen desire to respond is what drives further innovation.

We can have better UI and UX experiences using web chat and augmented conversations. Time and time again I see technology products starting on the right footing only to deteriorate as companies push them to scale.

The internet now is quite mature, so this is becoming to stop using emojis finally experience. Few companies can repeat the process of innovation discovered initially has been with their successful flagship products — never mind the improvement on existing ones.

  9. Our world has never been more digitally connected, and as a result, there’s never been a higher demand for effective UI design.

Like other types of graphic design, it takes a good eye to create something extraordinary. While you may not be aiming for an award-winning masterpiece, there is value in learning how to create functional UI design.

The “UI” in UI design stands for user interface. Now, some people may be thinking to themselves: what is an interface? In computing, an interface is simply the space where humans and computers interact. When an interface is designed with the user in mind, both the consumer and business mutually benefit.
