  2. E-commerce and local search might seem to be exclusive functions. Local search is typically associated with store locations and driving offline purchases, while e-commerce usually involves online transactions.

But recently the crowded e-commerce space has led online-only stores to encroach on the turf of local stores and services.

  3. One of the best things about the internet is the vast amounts of knowledge available at your fingertips. You can be a complete novice in a subject, but thanks to e-learning sites and YouTube, you can gain a real understanding of practically anything. For instance, we’ve written about free photo courses and YouTube videos where you can learn to paint at your own pace. But this type of creative instruction doesn't stop there; we've found many great design tutorials that will teach you the fundamentals of visual communication.

  4. Every user interacting with your web design is a human — at least until the singularity arrives — which means each one of them is subject to certain psychological principles. Over decades of research, psychologists and philosophers have observed things about human nature that hold true to this day, and if you’re a UX designer worth their salt you’ll pay attention to them.

  6. Seen not long ago as “nice-to-haves” or “extras,” mobile devices and apps continue to revolutionize the way organizations operate. Workers expect to be able to do their jobs from wherever they happen to be — whether that’s in the office, in the field, at home or in an airplane terminal. Agencies that can’t meet those demands find themselves falling behind when it comes to attracting and empowering top talent. But until now, a full mobile platform wasn’t available.

  7. Shopping cart abandonment is an occurrence that plagues many retailers and webshops all over the world on a daily basis. By definition, shopping cart abandonment is when a potential customer starts the checkout process for an order online but drops off before completing the purchase. You will probably all agree with me when I say that the thought of the customer getting all the way to the shopping cart only to leave empty-handed is a very troublesome one, which is why it’s important to take action and stop it. While there are many customer experience (CX) solutions that can help avoid this problem, such as user feedback, ad retargeting and email recovery campaigns, there is another area that deserves some attention as well: user experience (UX).
